MINERALS AND RAW MATERIALS

In the region, there are following deposits of natural minerals: oil, gas, ozocerite, sulfur, gypsum, limy stone, dolomite, sand, gravel, granite, rot, gravelite, aleurite.
Oil deposits are located in the southern part of the region in Besharyk district as well as in the northern part of the region.
Main deposits of natural gas are located in the Northern Sokh and Chimyon.
Deposits of ozocerite which is used for production if sulfur, asphalt, bitumen are located in Shorsuv village of Uzbekistan district of the region.
Gypsum fields are located in Kuvasay, Shorsuv and Chimyon hills. 
Marble deposits are located in Shakhimardan, Sokh and Kuvasay. 
Rot, building materials for production of bricks, cement, ceramic products and tiles are found in Kuvasay, Vadil village as well as in Rishtan, Kopchugay, Sokh and Avval hills.
Subterranean mineral waters which are used for both drinking and for medical purposes are present in Ferghana and Chimyon hills as well as in Altyaryk district. 
Sand and sandstone which are used for glass production are present in Altyaryk, Central Ferghana and Yaz’avan dunes.
Crushed stones which are used for concrete production are present on banks of Shakhimardan-say and Isfarayram rivers (Kuvasay).
