TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

Transport communications network is well developed in the region. Length of utilized rail-way tracks comprises 262 km, length of asphalted automobile roads is 8.2 thousand km.
In year 2007, transportation enterprises of the region transported more than 67 million tons of cargoes and 456 million of passengers. International charter flights from Ferghana city Airport are made to such cities as Shardja, Istanbul, Aleppo, Delhi, Karachi and Teheran.
Rendering cellular communication services is developed in the region. There function regional branches such companies as “MTS-Uzbekistan”, “Coscom”, “Beeline” and “PerfectumMobile” in Ferghana and Kokand cities.
